Statistics PhD students awarded top prizes at International Indian Statistical Association conference

Two Statistics PhD students were recognized for their exceptional work at the 2022 International Indian Statistical Association (IISA) conference. Fourth-year PhD student, Kaustav Chakraborty, received third place in the Student Poster Competition for his research entitled "Efficient Model Fitting and Two-Sample Testing for Large Networks via Subsampling." The selection of poster award winners was based on the quality of the posters submitted. Chakraborty is advised by Professor Yuguo Chen.

Additionally, fourth-year PhD student, Abhishek Ojha, was awarded the Best Student Paper Award in the Methods and Applications section of the IISA conference. Ojha's paper, titled "A Conditional Bayesian Approach with Valid Inference for High Dimensional Logistic Regression," was selected for its quality, content, and oral presentation during the conference. Ojha is advised by Professor Naveen Narisetty.

The IISA conference was held on December 26-30, 2022 in Bengaluru, India.
